I used them until the sole wore down, I have used sandals or been walking barefoot and they just were perfect. You can run heel to toe with them. I miss going to tje REI store and take the true size instead of buying online. Is there any other barefoot "sneaker" that feels this comfortable?

I bought Salomon OUTPulse Mid GTXs last autumn just before we went to hike to Salla tunturi in Northern Finland. Walked on all kinds of terrain, wet, damp, rocks, mud and whatever. Never let a single drop of water in and Ive actually kept those as almost my daily shoes. Very comfortable, pretty nice looking (Orange) and wasnt that expensive either. Ive had bad habits of going about in shitty shoes, so I usually get ancle pain and my shoes get torn from the heel. But so far nothing on Salomons. Dont care for brand favoritism, but if something works Im willing to give a second go to a company.

Don't put strange foam shoes against your bare feet. Botj shoes can cause irritation from bacteria build up. DO NOT WEAR WITH BARE FEET.

I wonder if the quality of North Face stuff improves at the higher end, but all I know is that I've spent too much on things in the £100 (maybe USD130) range that haven't lasted - outdoor shoes that lasted just over 6 months when I had a 20 minute each way commute through woods and parks, and a waterproof whose lining shredded - to trust them again - even budget brand Trespass managed shoes that lasted longer than my North Faces

I worked at an outdoor store in Montclair NJ for years, and I can tell you first hand that North Face sucks hard. # Northfarce #never stop exploiting.

I don't suppose the fake leather is made from recycled plastic... Other flaws aside, that would help their environmental branding.

How long did they last you when you wore them?

The weight of insulation quoted on jackets and boots is usually the weight PER square metre. You can't quote actual weight of insulation as there are multiple different sizes of jackets and boot and each size will have a different weight, So in order to provide a base for comparison across different products the insulation is usually quoted per fixed area. A jacket or boot with a 200g square metre rating will be warmer than one with 150g per square metre rating for example.
